Office Manager/Senior Technician
Soraya is one of our most experienced technicians and has been with Rivertown Animal Hospital since it’s opening in 2006. Soraya has earned multiple degrees: A Bachelor of Science in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration. Soraya is now working full-time as an elementary school teacher, and we are thrilled she still continues her relationship with us as a part-time employee. Our patients surely love this arrangement too, as she has been known to throw a little extra love and treats their way. Her specialty is making our patients comfortable and relaxed and helping clients understand how to care for their pet through an illness and/or recovery from surgery. Soraya resides in Plaquemine with her husband Jonathan and their very loved six dogs. Outside of the clinic, Soraya enjoys Baking and spending time at home with her husband and twin nephews.
As a senior technician, Stephanie works closely with Dr. Leblanc during surgical procedures and excels at patient nursing care. She has been a part of Rivertown since August of 2006. Stephanie loves to watch patients grow from puppy and kitten hood to adults and senior patients. She works diligently to expand her knowledge working alongside both Dr. Leblanc and Dr. Schroeder. She appreciates the connections she has made with our clients and their pets, along with former and current employees. Stephanie has also worked in the large animal field at LSU with horses, cows, sheep, and goats. She is a graduate of Brusly High School where she met her now husband Zach. They reside in Addis with their daughter, Amelia James, and their two dogs, Murphy and Fletcher.
Caroline was born and raised in White Castle, Louisiana. She joined our Rivertown family in August of 2018. You will normally see her working in in-room appointments, drop offs, and at the reception desk. Caroline enjoys working alongside our sick and healthy patients, ensuring that everyone has a comfortable stay. She loves the family atmosphere and the learning opportunities that Rivertown has to offer. She is currently a Senior at Southeastern Louisiana University, majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child Life. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and fur babies, reading, being on the lake, and being a first time aunt to a beautiful niece. Caroline has a dachshund named Rosie, a maltipoo named Sophie, a lab mix named Beau, and a cat named Goose whom she rescued as a kitten from Rivertown.
Kollene has been a member of Rivertown since 2017. She spent a brief period of her childhood in Brusly and eventually moved back permanently in 2014. She is currently in school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician, and enjoys expanding her knowledge in what she plans to make her life-long career. She works closely with Dr. Leblanc and Dr. Schroeder assisting in surgeries and handling in-room appointments. Her favorite part of employment at Rivertown is forming bonds with patients and clients over time. In her free time, she enjoys writing and running around after her pets: a German Shepard, Kastiel; a Shih Tzu, Kayn, and a fluffy cat, Kato. Kollene was recently married to Brusly Native, Dylan, and they are expecting a sweet baby girl this winter.
Renee is one of our most recent additions to the Rivertown family. She can be found most mornings monitoring patients for surgery. From pre-anesthetic bloodwork to recovery, she will make sure your pet is stable and comfortable throughout the procedure. She loves to make sick and surgery patients feel relaxed and loved during their treatment or procedure. Renee is originally from White Castle, Louisiana, and returned home after traveling the west coast for a few years while pursuing her Bachelor degree. One of her favorite things about working at Rivertown the past year is learning new things from experiences throughout the day. She has two dogs, miller and her Rivertown rescue Edna. She enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, and reading in her spare time.
Kaycie has been a part of the Rivertown Animal Hospital team since June of 2016. She started out as a kennel technician, but quickly worked her way up to veterinary technician. Kaycie recently graduated from LSU with a Bachelor’s of Science, and plans to continue her education in Elementary education. Kaycie is from Denham Springs, but most of her family reside on the West Side. In her free time, Kaycie enjoys cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends. Kaycie is also the proud owner of Jolene, a Labrador Retriever, and felines Pico and Queso whom she rescued while employed at Rivertown Animal Hospital
